October 23, 2021 - Antipolo City National Science and Technology High School
The first ever MathIYAGA competition was held remotely on October 23, 2021 through Google Meet. A total of 50 Grade 7 to Grade 10 students from Antipolo City National Science and Technology High School participated. The first round was a multiple choice round which consisted of 25 questions and was taken in one hour. Questions 1-10 were worth 3 points, questions 11-20 were worth 4 points, and questions 21-25 were worth 6 points, for a total of 100 points. The coverage of the competition was Arithmetic, Algebra, Logic, Geometry, Probability, and Combinatorics.
The following students were named as the top 3 scorers from each grade level for the multiple choice round:

After the multiple choice round, the top four students from the entire competition were chosen to participate in the Semi-final round.

In the semi-final round, participants went head-to-head in two different heats. The one to get the correct answer the fastest for each question was awarded a point. The first student to get two points advanced to the finals. After the semi-finals, the same process was repeated for the finals, until a winner was determined.
We are proud to announce that the overall winner is Evita Lorreine I. Haban. Overall, the event was a huge success and we are looking forward to the next one!
