Hi! My name is Matthew Chua and I am 16 years old and currently a junior at the British School of Manila. I started joining math competitions when I was in grade 3 and since then, I have joined numerous local and international competitions. Wanting to spread my love for math with underprivileged students in the Philippines, I started this initiative ‘MathIYAGA’ which aims to provide these students with the opportunity to experience a math competition as they may not have the money to join otherwise. As an aspiring engineering student in university, I also created the “Maker Studio”, where the top performing students from ‘MathIYAGA’ competitions will be given the opportunity to work together with me to create their own prototypes of products that will be beneficial for their communities.
